May 19 thru May 24, 2010. Mayfest - the Cornell International Chamber Music Festival - features six days of concerts at either Barnes Hall or Sage Hall. In 2010 Mayfest welcomes back violist Cynthia Phelps, jazz pianist John Stetch, and Russian bass Alexander Vassiliev, and are treated for the first time to compelling performances by clarinetist Alexander Fiterstein, violinists Mikhail Kopelman and Xiao-Dong Wang, and cellists Steven Doane and Zvi Plesser. We salute the anniversary years of Schumann and Samuel Barber, and present a lively combination of classics, lesser-known works, a jazz/klezmer jam, and new works written just for us by Cornellians Roberto Sierra and James Matheson.
