If you are visiting Ithaca with your dog, you are in good company; Ithaca is one of the most dog-friendly cities in America.
Where to Stay with Your Dog
Check the listed of recommended hotels listed at Ithaca Lodging. Hotels that allow pets are so noted. For a list of dog kennels in Ithaca, scroll down further on this pae.
Where to Take Your Dog
Cornell University
Dogs are accepted on the grounds of Cornell University, and many can be seen playing Frisbee with their owners on the "Quad," the Arts & Sciences quadrangle near the Bell Tower.
Ithaca Dog Park
Treman State Park (adjacent to Cayuga Lake), Route 89, north of Cass Park.
Ithaca Famers Market
Although technically dogs are not allowed in the covered area of the Farmers Market, there are dozens of dogs seen frequently about the Farmers Market, and signs indicate that owners may eat at benches at the Farmers Market, outside overlooking the water.
Collegetown Bagels
The bagel shop and deli in Collegetown, adjacent to Cornell University, has outdoor picnic tables where owners frequently can be seen eating with their dogs. The location downtown near the Commons also has outdoor seating where owners are seen eating with their dogs nearby. Additional locations can be found at www.collegetownbagels.com
The Commons
Downtown restaurants, including Hal's Deli, offer outdoor dining during nice weather. Dogs often are seen accompanying their owners at outdoor tables.
Purity Ice Cream
In our opinion, Purity offers the best ice cream in Ithaca. Owners may eat outside, with their dogs on leashes.
Wineries
Some local Finger Lakes wineries accommodate dogs outside.
Lakes
Dogs may swim in Cayuga Lake, and may be led by leash from Cass Park.
Petfest
This is a dog walk at Cass Park. Check Ithaca Festivals in September for date, usually last Saturday in September

There are larger luxury suites available, with extra amenities such as a window and 4 walks per day, available at $40 per night. Our own dog stayed here, received lots of special attention, and was very happy with the experience.
