The Cornell Lab of Ornithology offers Guided Beginner Bird Walks virtually every Saturday & Sunday from July until early October (please check the website link above to confirm that a walk will occur on the date you select). These walks are aimed at beginner bird watchers, begin at 7:30 a.m. and last approximately 1 to 1.5 hours. Some binoculars may be available. Oct 01 thru Oct 03, 2010. The Annual Downtown Ithaca Apple Harvest Festival is a weekend celebration of food, fun and the fall. The three-day festival attracts an audience of around 30,000 people to Downtown Ithaca. The festival features over 150 individual performers as part of at least 20 groups of entertainment. The event has farmers, wineries, bakeries, crafters, food vendors, an apple pie eating competition, apples, apples and more apples. Activities include music, dancing, eating, education, a Ferris wheel and giant slide, Iron Chef event, craft-fair and street performers.
